Versatility is the word for ethnic attires in the fashion world

Ethnic wear, especially sarees, look so much versatile and charming that they can make any women look beautiful. No matter what kind of event or occasion you attend, a beautiful piece of saree coordinated with the right kind of accessories can make you look elegant. You can always wear saree to the workplace or wear it at home because they are lightweight, easy to carry and looks good on every silhouette. Sarees today, are weaved by artisans, keeping in mind the choices of modern day women. They are the perfect amalgam of ethnic styles and modern designs.

Ethnic wear for women today is not limited to sarees only but they also include salwar-kameez and Kurtis too. Sarees are very comfortable to wear and if you know the right way to drape them, you can wear it to any occasion especially in events like pujas and marriages. Sarees can beautifully accentuate every silhouette and make a woman look graceful no matter what her age is. Nowadays, we do not even need to explore various shops in the market to pick up a perfect piece of saree that will suit our taste and style.

Talking about sarees, they are one of the world’s oldest existing unstitched garment known till date. The inhabitant during the Indus Valley civilization used to wear long pieces of clothes in the form of loin clothes. Sarees are usually 5-9 yards long and are worn in various styles which originated from different states in India. The “nivi” style is the most common draping style followed in India. Sarees are available in different materials too that originated from different parts of India, each of them has the intricate artwork of the local artisans which are spun on locally available fabrics. Some famous varieties of sarees include Chanderi, Jamdani, Dhakai, Garad, Baluchuri, Bandhani, Patola, Banarasi and various types of silk sarees.

Even during the most important events in our life, we cannot imagine wearing anything other than ethnic wear. We cannot imagine an Indian bride without wearing a red Banarasi saree or a gorgeous lehenga on her big day. Likewise, we cannot think of playing Holi without a white cotton kurti or kurta. Ethnic wear like sarees and salwar-kameez never go out of fashion, they are so versatile that they can be worn to any and every occasion.
